class=\"wp-caption-text\">Capriata House, the Carlo Mollino Refuge<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Trail <strong>2 <\/strong> starts in <strong>Biel<\/strong>, a hamlet of Gressoney-Saint-Jean at the end of the Castel Savoia road, and arrives at the top station of the <strong>Weismatten<\/strong> chairlift (2055 m). It is <strong>2777m<\/strong> long and the total positive elevation gain is <strong>590m<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe approximate time for the climb is <strong>1h46<\/strong>. The trail is rated of difficulty <strong>E<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Simple trail, more than half of which follows a dirt road that is a ski slope (of blue difficulty) in winter. The most panoramic point is shortly after the start, when it cuts across the wall of the black ski slope dedicated to the Gressoney champion <a href=\"https:\/\/it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Leonardo_David\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leonardo David<\/a> and offers a remarkable view of the Gressoney-Saint-Jean plain.<\/p>\n<p>The main attraction is undoubtedly the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/rifugiomollino\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carlo Mollino Refuge<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.casacapriata.polito.it\/it\/content\/download\/603\/2512\/file\/Rifugio%20Carlo%20Mollino%20Weissmatten\/index.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Opened on December 5, 2014<\/a>, the refuge was named after Carlo Mollino, an important architect, designer, photographer, and professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Turin. We hope it will soon be restored and enhanced as it deserves.<\/p>\n<p>At this point (which can also be reached via a comfortable 15-minute chairlift ride), two trails begin: the challenging <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sentierigressoney.it\/en\/sentieri\/frudiere-pass-trail-1a\/\" class=\"sentiero-chip clickable-chip\">\n                    <i class=\"fas fa-hiking chip-icon-fa\"><\/i> \n
