class=\"wp-caption-text\">Alpe Bettolina at 2375m<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Trail <strong>1 <\/strong>starts in <strong>Stafal (1,840 m) <\/strong>and ends at the <strong>lower Bettolina Pass (2,906 m)<\/strong>. It is <strong>4,708 m<\/strong> long and has a total elevation gain of <strong>1,088 m<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe approximate time for the ascent is <strong>3h15<\/strong>. The trail is rated of difficulty <strong>E<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Trail 1 is one of the least traveled trails in the valley, so it is reserved for those who want to go on a solitary hike with a well-founded probability of not meeting a soul from start to finish.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the end of Trail 1, <strong>lower Bettolina pass<\/strong> is also on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sentierigressoney.it\/en\/sentieri\/quintino-sella-refuge-trail-9\/\" class=\"sentiero-chip clickable-chip\">\n                    <i class=\"fas fa-hiking chip-icon-fa\"><\/i> \n                    <span class=\"chip-label\">TRAIL 9<\/span>\n                <\/a>, which reaches the Quintino Sella Refuge. Trail 1 is therefore an excellent alternative should one wish to arrive at the Quintino Sella Refuge along a decidedly wild trail, where the only signs of modernity are those we carry with I did not meet a soul.<\/p>\n<p>On the way back, at about 2010 meters, keeping an eye on the map on my phone, I found directions to a junction that, with a very short detour, leads to crossing a small bridge over the Lys&#8230;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_16390\" style=\"width: 505px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sentierigressoney.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/DSF6249.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16390\" class=\"size-portfolio wp-image-7220\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sentierigressoney.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/DSF6249-495x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"495\" height=\"400\" then pass behind the Cortlys Alp and finally rejoin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sentierigressoney.it\/portfolio-item\/gressoney-la-trinite-sentiero-7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trail 7 leading to the Lys springs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_16391\" style=\"width: 505px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a the right of the Lys (left bank), as shown on the map below.<\/p>\n<p>This detour can, of course, also be made by going uphill: go up from trail 7, and once you reach Cortlys Alp, turn left, following
